About Chef Lisa Stroh

I've loved to cook since my childhood, yet growing up in Wisconsin, I was surrounded by fried fatty foods and loads of white sugar and flour. My desire for healthy food inspired me to begin cooking family meals at age 11. There was no question I would one day become a chef.

So, I headed West to pursue my culinary dreams. I signed up for cooking school, graduated and began working in Bay Area restaurants and clubs. Although California food was healthier, restaurant food was still filled with excess fats and sugars. I wanted to do better. l wanted to create tasty, elegant meals without the junk. After much experimentation, I came up with healthy gourmet cuisine that would please the most experienced foodies.

I then started Ambrosia in 2002, my personal chef and catering business focused on healthy gourmet meals, and a dream was realized.
